We are excited to offer an opportunity for a talented Level Designer to become a key player in our dynamic Fortnite development team. Your primary responsibility will be to craft engaging and immersive game levels, contributing significantly to the evolution of our Fortnite-related projects and games.

In this pivotal role, you will work in tandem with a diverse group of developers, artists, and project managers, ensuring that each level you design aligns perfectly with our creative vision and project goals. Your ability to communicate effectively, anticipate project needs, and swiftly tackle challenges will be crucial in delivering experiences that resonate with our players. Your creativity, coupled with a strategic approach to design, will play a vital role in maintaining the thrilling and captivating gameplay that Fortnite fans love.‍

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Focus on Unreal Engine for Fortnite:

• Utilise Unreal Engine to design and develop game levels for Fortnite.
• Specialise in creating engaging and visually appealing environments within the Fortnite universe.

Responsibility for Game Architecture and Construction:

• Design and construct the overall architecture of game spaces, including levels and maps.
• Ensure that the game environments are cohesive and align with the overall vision of the game.

Translation of Game Design into Game Environment:

• Convert abstract game design concepts into tangible elements within the game world.
• Collaborate with the game design team to integrate storylines, missions, and gameplay elements into the level design.

Integration of Challenges and Progression:

• Strategically incorporate challenges and obstacles to enhance the game's progression.
• Balance difficulty levels to maintain player engagement and satisfaction.

Consideration of Game Rhythm and Mechanics:

• Integrate rhythm and pacing into level design to create a dynamic gameplay experience.
• Understand and apply game mechanics effectively to enhance the player's interaction with the game environment.

Anticipation of Player Emotions and Behaviours:

• Predict and cater to player responses and behaviours to create immersive and engaging experiences.
• Design levels that evoke specific emotions and reactions, contributing to a memorable gaming experience.

Creation of Fluid and Immersive Experiences:

• Ensure that game levels provide a seamless, fluid experience for players.
• Focus on creating immersive environments that keep players engaged and invested in the game.

Requirements:

• UEFN or strong Unreal engine experience is essential
• Exceptional understanding of multiplayer games
• Fortnite experience , preferably domain knowledge would be highly advantageous
• Professional experience working in the gaming industry on 3D games
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good understanding of the full game development lifecycle.
